International Charity Tournament Eric Abidal Foundation
For the first time the city of Sant Cugat holds the International Charity Tournament promoted by the Eric Abidal Foundation with the support of Ricoh and Futsal Club Sant Cugat and the cooperation of the City Council.
On the 5th and the 6th of December 2015, the Eric Abidal Foundation organise the first International Charity Tournament. This is a unique opportunity to offer children in school sports teams and futsal clubs the chance to take part in a sporting and charity action that will help raise funds for future projects of the Foundation. The main goals of the Foundation are to improve the living conditions of children and young cancer patients and their emotional environment, as well as promote research of oncological diseases and awareness of organ donation. All of it with sport as its backbone.
It will be a weekend full of sport activities, but there will be more: a charity dinner on Friday night with gifts through a raffle. We will have several activities around the three sports centers at the Rambla del Celler and will be a great chance for everyone to share the court with former French international player Eric Abidal, who will be present during the two days of games.
The International Charity Tournament Eric Abidal Foundation will be used to promote values such as effort, teamwork, spirit of self-improvement and solidarity among all the players, supporters, volunteers and organizations in the city. In this first edition will be forty teams taking part, including national and international teams. This is an event for the city of Sant Cugat and the Eric Abidal Foundation wants to fill the center of people passionate about futsal and concerned with child and young cancer.
The tournament will take place at the ZEM Rambla del Celler in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona). The facility has three indoor courts where matches of different categories will be played simultaneously .
Each team will play 4 games and other activities will be conducted at the same time. The matches will be referee by members of the Futsal Referee Committee of the Catalan Football Federation.
Tournament times are Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of December 2015. Beginning at 9am and finishing at 9pm.
On Friday the 4th the official presentation of the tournament will take place and also a charity dinner where there will be a representative from each time.
The schedule of matches will be posted on the web Futsal Club Sant Cugat.
