The EAF collaborates with MiCompañeroDeViaje and The Research Institute of Vall D’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, in an ambitious research project about the ‘molecular characterization of pediatric sarcomas for more effective personalized therapy’.
The main objective of this project is to improve survival rates, by to the tailoring of therapies in pediatric patients.
The Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the University Hospital Vall d’Hebron, is a national and international benchmark in the treatment of childhood cancer and hematological diseases. Its experience, human resources and technological resources enable it to offer a multidisciplinary and comprehensive care to the patient and his family, covering all diagnostic procedures and the most advanced treatments. It must also be highlighted, that its “Group for Translational Cancer Research in Children and Adolescents” in the Research Institute Vall d’Hebron (VHIR) contributes with its projects, to a better diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and control of these diseases. All its research has clearly translational vocation, ie, it aims to reach patients in the form of tangible benefits, being especially focused on improving diagnosis and treatments.
